Advanced Analytics
Advanced Analytics is available on the Enterprise plan. Standard analytics (completion rates, quiz scores, enrollment counts) are available on all plans.
Advanced Analytics adds six additional views to the Analytics section, focused on identifying problems and opportunities before they affect outcomes.
Accessing Advanced Analytics
Go to Analytics in the sidebar. If your plan includes Advanced Analytics, you will see additional tabs alongside the standard Overview tab.
The six views
1. At-Risk Students
Shows students who are likely to disengage or fail to complete based on activity signals:
- No logins in the past 14 days despite an active enrollment
- Progress stalled below 30% for more than 7 days
- Multiple failed quiz attempts with no retry
How to act: Click any student name to open their profile. From there you can send a direct message, reassign them to a different batch, or contact them via email.
2. Learning Velocity
Shows average time-to-complete by course category. Use this to identify whether certain content areas take significantly longer than planned.
- High velocity (fast completion) may indicate content is too easy or students are skimming
- Low velocity (slow completion) may indicate content is too dense or prerequisites are missing
3. Engagement Heatmap
A day-of-week × time-of-day heatmap showing when students are most active on the platform.
Use this to:
- Schedule live sessions at peak engagement times
- Time announcement emails to arrive when students are most likely to log in
- Identify gaps (e.g. weekends with zero activity)
4. Cohort Comparison
Compare the performance of two or more batches running the same course side-by-side:
| Metric compared | Description |
|---|---|
| Average completion rate | % of students who finished the course |
| Average quiz score | Mean score across all quiz attempts |
| Average time-to-complete | Days from enrollment to completion |
| Drop-off point | The lesson where most students stop |
Select batches from the dropdown to add them to the comparison table.
5. Content Effectiveness
Ranks lessons by a combination of:
- Rewatch rate — how often students re-open a video lesson
- Drop-off rate — percentage of students who stop progressing after this lesson
- Quiz failure rate — percentage of students who fail the quiz attached to this lesson
Lessons with high drop-off or failure rates are flagged in red. Click any lesson to open it in the course editor and review or improve the content.
6. Completion Funnel
A funnel chart showing how many students progress through each module of a course. Each step shows the number of students who reached it and the drop-off from the previous step.
Use the funnel to identify exactly which module loses the most students.
Acting on the data
Advanced Analytics surfaces signals — the action is yours to take. Common responses:
- At-risk student → send a re-engagement message or assign a mentor
- High drop-off lesson → rewrite the lesson or add a supplementary resource
- Low-performing batch → check instructor activity and announcement frequency
- Off-peak engagement → reschedule live sessions to match actual activity windows
All charts and tables can be exported as CSV using the Export button in the top-right of each view.
